Hello,

I have a query about 'login' to control panel of FPG 2.0.
On the course of installation, I have input a password in 'new password' field - however I cannot login from the first of beginning with the error 'incorrect' message. Guest Book for signing up works with no problem.

Is there supposed to be a default password initially set or should I just ask for a new password being sent to my email address? Just wondering why the password I set in the installation doesn't work...

I would appreciate your advice!
Thanks in advance (and thanks for this great program! )

Junko

Hello

One more additional info regarding this issue - I have received the 'new' password from the FPG, which still couldn't log in.

Would continuously wait for any advice!

Thank you in advance,
Junko

You may need to manually change a value in the config file (general.fpg). Do the steps below:

- open the file general.fpg (cgi-bin/fpg_files/configs/) with a (plain) text editor.
- change the line:

TIC_LIFE<==>120<==> in seconds

to

TIC_LIFE<==>1200<==> in seconds

- save the file and upload it in ASCII mode
- try to login

Hi Tri, Thank you so much for your prompt support.

Yes, the value change worked! thanks - but only for the password supplied by the system through email. A new password applied in Control Panel doesn't work. (So need to ask for a new pwd from the system!)

I can survive with it for the time being. Only if you have a chance, would you give me your thought on this issue - why I cannot change a password as I like?

I love the FPG - thank you so much again. Hoping I can contribute to this program in Japanese.

All the Best,
Junko

It's strangely! But you can send me your FTP-Info (if you want) and I'll check it for you.

Hi Tri,

Thank you very much for your kind offer! Much appreciated.

To liaise with you via email, I would like your email address if it doesn't matter? Then I can give you detail information.

One more thing to ask you before this password matter - is FPG limited to only 1 usage per site (or /cgi-bin/ directory) due to session restriction?

The reason is that I want to place 3 guestbooks in separate sections under the same website - like /cgi-bin/A/ , /cgi-bin/B/, and /cgi-bin/C/. Once password for A is setup, it doesn't seem to be able to set a password separately for B to get into control panel... guestbook itself is working individually. Password for A works only for A of course, but cannot change it in its control panel as I have previously reported.

Sorry for bothering you with these queries.

I'll contribute to Japanese version of FPG in return...!

Best,
Junko

Hi Junko,

open the cgi files (fpg.cgi, install.cgi and asimg.cgi) with a text editor and your'll see, how to install more than one guestbook on one server. The guestbooks work independent in separate folders.

To send me an e-mail, please use this form:

Best regards

Hi Tri,

Thank you for your instruction. Yes, I should have had a look inside of the file...

The password & login problem still persists even after I did fresh installation of 3 guestbooks. I have sent you an email via the link you kindly supplied me.

Hoping you can have a chance to have a look and share your insight with me.

Thank you very much once again - look forward to hearing from you.

All the best,
Junko

It's the CRYPT function on your server, that caused this issue. I disabled CRYPT and everything works fine.

Hier funktionierts: http://mfbruch.freehostia.com/cgi-bin/fpg/fpg.cgi
